Collaborations

B.A.B.E

  • Bed and Britches, Etc. (B.A.B.E.) is a community-based incentive program that provides new and used clothing and supplies for pregnant women and children to age 3.  Pregnant women and families with children can get items from B.A.B.E. by collecting B.A.B.E coupons from participating coupon distributors and redeeming them for items at any B.A.B.E. store.  The B.A.B.E stores are sponsored by Marion County Health Department, Clarian Health, St. Vincent Hospitals & Health Services, Wishard Community Health Centers and St. Francis Hospitals & Health Center. 

Stork's Nest

  • Stork's Nest is a program designed to increase the number of women who get early and regular prenatal care so that more babies get a healthy start in life.  Currently ,one of the more than 150 nests is housed in Raphael Health Center.  Their operating schedule here is the 1st Saturday of each month from 8:30am--12 noon & the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 5:00pm--7:00pm.  A cooperative national project of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. and the March of Dimes, Stork's Nest fulfills the sorority's pledge to contribute to the health and welfare of children and is intimately tied to the March of Dimes mission to prevent birth defects and infant mortality.  Pregnant women are referred through clinics or other health care facilities that provide prenatal care services.  The Stork's Nest provides maternity and baby clothing and nursery items for women who utilize prenatal care and other support services early and  regularly throughout their pregnancies.  Women earn points toward incentive items through a variety of health-promoting activities.

MOM

  • The Maternity Outreach Ministry (MOM) was created to serve families in our community that are struggling to meet the physical needs of raising children.  Through generous donations, they are able to offer a wide variety of maternity, infant and toddler care items free of charge.  Whether you are a single parent, a young parent or a family experiencing a financial difficulty, if meeting the basic needs of raising your children has become a real challenge feel free to drop by the MOM House to see how they can assist you.  MOM House mission is to extend the love of Jesus Christ for the glory of God by offering an oasis of hope and providing at no cost maternity, infant and toddler clothing and supplies to those in need in our community.

TheraPets of Indiana, Inc.

  • TheraPets of Indiana, Inc. is a non-profit corporation formed to provide animal assisted therapy and activities in all areas of hospitals, nursing homes, school and home settings.  Currently, TheraPets is most active with St. Vincent Hospital where the dogs are on-call 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.  One of TheraPets' missions is to provide emotional, mental and physical support and comfort to people of all ages through animal contact and interaction.  Currently TheraPets of Indiana, Inc. have five working dogs-- Molly, MacIntosh ("Big Mac") Maggie Mae, Lilly and Stella.  TheraPets of Indiana currently visits Raphael Health Center on Thursday mornings to interact with patients of all ages.
