Who We Are

History

A subcommittee of the Community Ministries Committee of the Session of Tabernacle Presbyterian Church plus community residents and key community leaders met for two years to determine community needs regarding health care. The following goals and objectives were determined:

Demonstrate Christ’s love by providing an atmosphere of acceptance, hope, and freedom to minister to spiritual needs.
Improve the health status of the residents by providing convenient quality health care.
Encourage a sense of dignity and pride in the community through community governance and ownership.
Provide an opportunity for Christian service.

Through the donation of equipment, supplies and volunteer physicians, the doors to Raphael Health Center were opened in October 1994 on Saturdays. Service expanded to six days per week in August 1996 with a paid staff.
